“A work environment that welcomes, teaches, promotes, and streamlines Diversity and Inclusion for all evolves daily to emit the beauty of a changing, more unified multicultural world”- Ty Howard
It’s International Women’s Day and this year’s theme is #EmbraceEquity. It’s a step forward from Equality, a true chance to build a working society.
It’s a call for the society to move from Equality to Equity, creating a leveled playing ground for both men and women.
It speaks to recognizing individual uniqueness and giving each person all the resources they need to thrive and rise to the top, especially women, who have been left out for many years, and are continuously striving to get their voices heard.
It’s a party where everyone is invited to eat at the table, no matter your status, no matter your gender, no matter your class.
It’s the era of empowering women to play in whatever field they want to, to give them chances at the top, to place them on seats formerly reserved for men and back them up with all they need to thrive.
It’s the journey to zero discrimination and addressing gaps in knowledge, of understanding your place and that of others and doing everything to give them the chances they deserve.
It’s the pain of reviewing paychecks and balancing it out, of giving women scholarships to study in male dominated careers, of avoiding pronoun wars “She’s Female Lawyer’, “She’s a Female Engineer”…
This Mantra has no end, really.
It’s the very lifeline of humanity and productivity that we at Sterling have started, with initiatives like Early Closing for Pregnant Woman, Extended Maternity Leave, Paternity Leave, ILearn Academy for upskilling women into Tech (and men too), The Bloom Network- a female-centric community to nurture, mentor and support women, The Creche available for Nursing Mothers at the Sterling Towers, Onewoman for customers…
Our list keeps growing.
And so should you.
Our final statement is simple- Embrace Equity.
