What is Tradelink?
Tradelink is a supply chain finance platform designed to help businesses to settle vendor payments without delay. This product supports corporates with a supplier network to overcome the typical 30-45-90 day wait for settling supplier payments. Developed and distributed in partnership with Africa Export and Import Bank (Afreximbank), Tradelink strengthens your business’ relationship with your suppliers by ensuring that they have access to financing for early payment on their invoices.
Who are the Participants on Tradelink?
A Tradelink transaction requires the following participants:
- A buyer or anchor – a large or emerging corporate company with a network of suppliers.
- Sellers – The suppliers/contractors/vendors that supply goods and services to the buyer.
How does Tradelink work?
The following steps will apply:
- Sterling Bank and Afreximbank team up with a corporate willing to offer the Tradelink benefit to its suppliers.
- A line of credit is allotted to the corporate which its suppliers can draw on whenever they desire.
- The supplier onboards on Tradelink.
- To access the financing, the supplier delivers goods/services to the corporate according to the terms of a purchase order or a contract.
- The corporate uploads the supplier’s approved invoice on Tradelink.
- The supplier goes to Tradelink and sells the invoice to Sterling Bank or Afreximbank at a discount.
- The supplier receives the funding in their bank account within a few minutes of a successful sale.
- On the invoice due date (agreed future date when the corporate is due to make payment), the corporate settles Sterling Bank a full payment of the invoice value.

Who is eligible to apply?
Businesses under the following categories:
- Corporates in Nigeria with strong value chain networks comprising suppliers, vendors, or contractors.
- Suppliers supplying goods and services to these corporates.
What documentation do I need to be onboarded on Tradelink?

- A copy of your most recent audited financials.
- Proof of an existing trading relationship with your buyer or seller. These include invoices, account statements, receipts, and contracts.
We will assess these and reply to you with information on the next steps.
How much funding can I access through Tradelink?
Buyer funding limits are set based on the buyer’s quarterly payables. This limit is shared between the buyer’s suppliers. We will determine applicable limits after we have conducted an analysis of each company’s financials.
Can I access funding in foreign currency?
Yes, funding is available in NGN, USD, and EUR.
What are the interest rates and charges associated with Tradelink?
This program enables suppliers to borrow at the interest rate applicable to their buyer. Our rates are highly competitive and are determined during negotiations with the buyer. Complete the enquiry form to know the interest rate applicable to your buyer.
How do I repay the financing obtained through Tradelink?
Each financing is repaid by the buyer on the invoice due date.
