1. INTRODUCTION
The Free Transfers Drive(the “Campaign”) is organized and promoted by Sterling Bank Ltd (“We,” “Us,” “Our,” “Sterling Bank”) with our registered office at Sterling Towers, 20 Marina, Lagos.
These Terms and Conditions (“T&Cs”) shall govern participation in the Campaign. By participating, you agree to be bound by these T&Cs and represent that you satisfy all eligibility requirements.
2. ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN
The Campaign offers zero transaction chargeson customer-initiated fund transfers to Sterling-to-Sterling accounts and Sterling to other Nigerian bank accounts. Transfers under this Campaign must be made exclusively via the Sterling Bank OneBank mobile application.
2.2. The Bank’s decisions regarding all matters related to the Campaign shall be final and binding.
3. CAMPAIGN DURATION
The Campaign begins on April 1, 2025, and will remain active as part of Sterling Bank’s ongoing customer value proposition. The Campaign may however be terminated or discontinued due to changes in regulation or Sterling Bank’s strategic priorities.
4. ELIGIBILITY
4.1. The Campaign is open exclusively to individual (non-business) customers who maintain Savings or Current accounts with Sterling Bank. The qualifying transactions must be performed via the OneBank mobile application.
4.2. Sterling Bank reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time and to disqualify any participant who is found to have breached the Campaign terms, misused the offer, or acted in bad faith.
5. PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
Customers can participate in the Campaign by:
Using the OneBank mobile appto initiate transfers.
Being an individual Sterling Bank Savings or Current accountholder.
Ensuring their monthly transfers do not exceed 300 transactionsto enjoy the free transfer benefits. Only 300 transactions are qualified for the zero-transfer charge in any given month. Once a customer exceeds 300 transactions in a month, all transactions above the 300 count are disqualified from benefitting from the zero-transfer charge.
Transfers must be manually initiated by Customers via OneBank. Transfers done through the Bank’s branches, automated transfers or transfersvia USSD/SterlingPro are disqualified.
No registration is required. Simply using OneBank to transfer funds during the Campaign period automatically qualifies the customer.
6. CAMPAIGN BENEFITS
6.1. Eligible customers will not be charged for fund transfers made to:
Other Sterling Bank accounts; and
Other Nigerian commercial bank accounts, when such transfers are performed via the OneBank app and within the allowable transfer counts.
6.2. The waiver applies only to transaction service fees due to Sterling Bank. Taxes, levies, and third-party charges (e.g., VAT) will still apply and shall be borne by the customer.
7. CONDITIONS AND FAIR USAGE LIMITATIONS
To maintain the integrity of the Campaign and prevent misuse, the following fair usage rules apply:
7.1. Monthly Transfer Limit: Each eligible customer is entitled to up to 300 free transfers per month.
7.2. Qualified Channels: Only transactions conducted via the OneBank mobile app qualify. Transfers via USSD, SterlingPro, or Branch channels are excluded.
7.3. Customer-Induced Transactions Only: Only manual, customer-initiated transfers done via OneBank are eligible. Automated or scheduled transfers, API-based transactions, or transactions suspected to be system-triggered will not qualify.
7.4. Abuse and Fraud Monitoring: The Bank reserves the right to monitor accounts for abnormal patterns, including but not limited to:
Repetitive low value transfers.
Excessive volume inconsistent with typical retail behavior.
Use of multiple linked accounts to extend benefits.
Use of bots, automation tools, or scripts to initiate transactions.
7.5. Disqualification: Accounts found in violation of these provisions may be disqualified from the Campaign or have transfer fees reinstated without prior notice.
8. AMENDMENT, SUSPENSION, OR TERMINATION
8.1. Sterling Bank reserves the right to amend, suspend, or terminate the Initiative or revise these T&Cs at any time, at its sole discretion and without prior notice.
8.2. In the event of termination or modification, Sterling Bank shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience incurred by customers.
9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
9.1. By participating in the Campaign, you agree to release and hold harmless Sterling Bank and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from any liability, losses, damages, or claims arising directly or indirectly from:
Your participation in the Campaign.
The use or unavailability of the OneBank app.
Technical or system failures, delays, or errors in processing transfers.
Unauthorized access to or alteration of transactions.
10. DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY
10.1. By participating, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal data in accordance with Sterling Bank’s Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws, for the purpose of administering this Initiative.
10.2. By participating, you agree to be fully and unconditionally bound by these rules, and you represent and warrant that you meet the eligibility requirements set forth herein.
11. RIGHT OF THE ORGANIZER
The Organizer reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be circumventing the Campaign process/terms; or failing to comply with the terms and conditions of participation set out herein.
12. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION
This Campaign and any disputes arising from it shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
