Diaspora Savings account (Naira)

Watch your savings target become a reality when you open a classic savings account. You can earn interest on your money as well as carry out transactions with the classic savings account. To open a diaspora savings account, simply download the OneBank app and sign up.

Domiciliary Account (Dollar, Euro, Pounds)

Do you receive payments in foreign currency? Take advantage of our domiciliary savings account. Whether home or abroad, you can conveniently make withdrawals and receive deposits via transfers or cash deposit in foreign currency.

The Diaspora Banking Account is an account that enables Nigerians who reside and work outside the country to maintain and perform domestic and foreign transfers through their accounts with Sterling bank.

All Nigerians living outside Nigeria.

Diaspora accounts can be opened online by downloading the Switch by Sterling app from your AppStore or Google Play Store or via the web: https://www.switch-ng.com/

This is an App specially and strategically developed for Nigerians in Diaspora. Switch is a free, easy to use financial services application that gives you access to banking services, currency exchange and insurance products at better rates.

You can open a tier 3 savings account in Naira, USD, GBP and EUR. A tier 3 account is one  that has a valid ID and BVN attached to it, allow card transactions and operate with a  Zero minimum balance.

  1. Duly completed account opening form.
  2. Passport photograph (1 copy per signatory)
  3. Valid proof of identification (International Passport (bio-data page) OR Nigerian Driver’s  Licence OR Nigerian Voter’s Card OR Nigerian National ID (NIMC) OR other Nigerian  Government approved means of identification). Yes, please. Customers receive an interest of 1.15% on a Savings Diaspora Account,  however, this is subject to review.

Yes, please. Diaspora customers have access to Mortgage loans for specific  Nigerian properties. This is subject to eligibility and approval.

There are several investment options available such as Treasury Bills, Discounted Certificate of Deposits, Fixed Deposit, Doubble by Sterling, I-invest, etc.

You can sign up on Sterling OneBank/Onepay.

  1. Debit Card can be picked up in person at any Sterling branch or by proxy. Kindly click here to download the request form to pick up by proxy .

  3. This third-party customer will visit the selected Branch with a valid ID card to pick up the  debit card.

You can make cash withdrawals from your naira account with your Visa or MasterCard on  ATMs globally.

  • You can make cash withdrawals from your domiciliary account across the counter at any  Sterling Bank branch in Nigeria or transfer to any foreign account via online transfer platform (Charges will apply depending on the mode of withdrawal).
  • You can make cash withdrawals from your domiciliary account outside Nigeria using your  dollar debit card.
