What is OneToken by Sterling?

OneToken by Sterling is the new mobile application used to authorize login to some Sterling and The Alternative Bank applications. They are also used to consummate transactions using One-Time Passwords when required.

How can I get the OneToken application?

If you use an Apple device, to download OneToken from the App Store, click here.

If you use an Android device, to download OneToken from Google Play, click here.

Can I set up my OneToken profile myself?

Yes. You can download and set up your OneToken profile all by yourself by following the steps outlined in the OneToken User Guide. Click here to download.

Please note: To successfully add SterlingPro as an application on your OneToken profile, the Account Admin must first create a change of authentication request for you using the steps outlined in Q5.

Can OneToken be used on web?

No, OneToken is strictly a mobile application and is not accessible via the Web.

My SterlingPro account uses OTP for transaction authentication, how do I change it to OneToken?

The OTP is the default authentication method for the new SterlingPro. Only a SterlingPro Admin can change users’ authentication method from OTP to OneToken and vice-versa.

To change your authentication method, follow the steps below;

  • From the menu options on your SterlingPro dashboard, click on Settings.
  • Click on Authentication Requests.
  • Click on Request Method.
  • Select the username and authentication method of choice.
  • Click Proceed.
Is OneToken available on all mobile phone operating systems and versions?

OneToken can be used on Android v5.0 & above and iOS v10.0 & above.

For how long is a OneToken OTP valid?

Your OneToken OTP is valid for 30 Seconds only.

Can I operate OneToken without an internet connection?

No. Your OneToken application requires a stable internet connection to function optimally.

Are biometric options available for login?

Yes. You can use Touch or Face ID to log in if your device is biometric enabled.

Is OneToken only used on SterlingPro?

No. SterlingPro is only one of the many applications within Sterling Bank and The Alternative Bank that use OneToken. You can add multiple applications to your OneToken by following the steps below;

  • On the home screen, click on Add Application +
  • From the list provided, select the Sterling Bank or Alternative Bank application you wish to add.
  • Enter your username and password for the selected application, then click Continue.
  • Enter the OTPs sent to your email and phone number and click Continue
  • Click on Go To Token to view your newly added application.
Where can the privacy policy be accessed?

To access the Terms and Privacy Policy, follow the steps below;

  • Click on the navigation menu (3 horizontal lines) to reveal the options.
  • From the menu options, click on About OneToken.
  • Click on Terms & Privacy Policy.
Can I have OneToken for the same account on multiple devices?

No. Each user profile on any application can only be used on 1 device.

What do I do if my phone gets lost, damaged or I change devices?

If you change your device, log in with your Username and Password, then follow the prompts to effect a device change.

Can all user roles use OneToken?

Yes. All user roles can use OneToken.

How do I activate OneToken after downloading from the App Store or Google Play?

To activate your OneToken, simply use the Add Application + feature as described in Q9. However, for you successfully add SterlingPro as an application, the Admin must first create a change of authentication request for you using the steps outlined in Q4.

Who do I contact for issues encountered on OneToken?

Is it compulsory for all user roles (Authorizer, Approver, Verifier, Admin and Initiator) to use the same type of token to carry out transactions on SterlingPro?

Yes. The OneToken is the main authentication type/method for SterlingPro.
