I am nominating myself for the Sterling ₦2B Scholarship because I am a passionate and purpose-driven Nigerian who believes that access to quality education should not be determined by background or privilege.
As a 300-level Mechanical Engineering student at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), I have consistently demonstrated a deep interest in data science, machine learning, and how they can be applied to solve real-world problems — especially in climate change, aerospace, and national development. Despite limited access to advanced tools and opportunities, I have self-taught Python programming, worked on personal projects, and participated in student-led tech challenges and learning programs.
Coming from a modest family of educators, I’ve always understood the value of education and hard work. But financial limitations have slowed down my access to quality digital resources and limited my ability to pursue a structured data science degree. This scholarship would not only give me access to world-class learning at Miva University but also provide the platform I need to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s digital economy.
With this opportunity, I intend to build innovative solutions that improve sectors like health, transportation, and renewable energy — aligning with Sterling’s HEART values. My drive, skills, and vision for impact are clear. All I need now is support — and Sterling’s initiative could be the key that unlocks my potential.
Thank you for considering my nomination.
