Pitch Summary

Dear Sterling,

My name is Abigail Ogabi, I am 25 years old, and I come from a family of six where I am the fifth child. I am writing to express my interest in the Miva Open University scholarship opportunity to study Public Health.

I have always had a deep interest in the well-being of people and communities. Growing up, I saw how access to proper health education, clean environments, and preventive care could make a huge difference in people’s lives. These experiences inspired my passion to pursue a career in Public Health, a field that would allow me to contribute meaningfully to the health and safety of those around me.

Due to financial limitations, I was unable to further my education after completing my initial studies. I had to focus on supporting my family and helping in any way I could. For the past few years, I have worked as a janitor, including within Sterling Bank Limited, where I have served with dedication and a strong work ethic. Even while carrying out my duties, my dream of returning to school and building a career in public health has remained very close to my heart.

This scholarship means more than just financial support to me. It represents a renewed chance to pursue my dreams and become a part of something greater. I believe that studying at Miva Open University, with its flexible and innovative approach to learning, will allow me to gain valuable knowledge while continuing to fulfill my responsibilities.

I am committed, passionate, and eager to make a positive impact. I believe that a career in public health will equip me to give back to society in meaningful ways, by promoting health awareness, preventing illness, and improving lives within my community.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my application. I will be truly grateful for the opportunity to grow, learn, and contribute in greater ways.

Warm regards,
Abigail Ogabi
