My name is Moses, and I’m applying for the Sterling Bank Scholarship to study Entrepreneurship at Miva Open University. My journey has been far from conventional. I had to drop out of university due to personal and financial challenges, and for years, I carried the weight of that unfinished chapter. But that experience didn’t stop me; it became why I doubled my growth and impact.
Without a formal degree, I carved a path in tech and design through sheer discipline, self-learning, and relentless practice. I’ve taught ICT and digital skills in several respected ICT Institutions. I have trained students of different ages, introduced them to coding and design, and helped many discover their potential in tech. I’m currently pushing forward a small business, Neuralcube Services, a company focused on solving everyday problems through tech, from web and mobile development to branding, training, and software solutions tailored for small businesses in Nigeria.
For me, entrepreneurship is not just about profit. It’s about creating solutions that bring value, empower people, and change lives. I’ve built platforms, supported vendors, and even supervised IT students, all while juggling personal learning and professional work. But I know that to truly scale my vision, I need the kind of structure, network, and exposure that a degree programme like this offers.
This scholarship is an opportunity to complete a journey I once had to pause, and to do it with purpose. It would allow me to formalise my learning, grow as a leader, and expand the impact of my work. I believe in what Miva Open University stands for: accessible, flexible, and future-facing education. And I admire Sterling Bank’s commitment to supporting young Nigerians who want to build solutions for the future.
I know the value of education because I’ve lived without it, and now I’m ready to make the most of it. If awarded this scholarship, I will bring not just my ambition, but my experience, grit, and a commitment to using what I learn to give back to others.
Note: While applying, I tried selecting a course under the School of Business & Management Sciences (Entrepreneurship), but the site only displays Information Technology regardless of the selection. Kindly advise.
