My name is Micah Habila Dhindarah, and I am applying for the BSc. Software Engineering programme under the School of Computing. I come from a humble background in Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Nigeria. I have always been passionate about technology, and I strongly believe in its power to solve real-world problems—especially in underserved communities like mine.
Growing up, I witnessed how limited access to digital tools held people back from achieving their full potential. This inspired me to pursue a career in technology, with a special interest in cybersecurity and software development. My goal is to become a cybersecurity expert who builds safe digital environments for individuals, businesses, and institutions in Nigeria and across Africa.
However, achieving this dream is challenging due to financial constraints. I come from a large family, and the cost of higher education is beyond what my parents can afford. This scholarship represents more than just financial support—it is a chance for me to rise above my circumstances, gain world-class education, and build a future where I can make a difference through innovation and service.
If awarded this scholarship, I will dedicate myself wholeheartedly to my studies, stay committed to excellence, and use my skills to support others through mentorship, community service, and meaningful software projects. I am nominating myself because I believe in the impact I can make when given the opportunity.
Thank you for considering my application.
