As a final-year Electrical and Electronics Engineering student at Federal University Oye-Ekiti, with a Distinction in my National Diploma from Federal Polytechnic Offa, I am applying for the Sterling Scholarship at Miva Open University to deepen my expertise in Data Science and its applications in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for real-world engineering solutions.
My academic background, enhanced by certifications in Cloud Computing, IoT, and Data Science, has fueled my passion for building intelligent systems that can transform the way engineering challenges are addressed. I am particularly interested in how Data Science powers AI and ML models to enable predictive equipment failure analysis, real-time monitoring, automated fault detection, and preventive maintenance—technologies critical to improving efficiency, safety, and reliability in power and industrial systems.
In the context of smart grids, embedded systems, and renewable energy, the ability to use data to make machines smarter and systems more responsive represents the future of engineering—and I am determined to be at the forefront of that future.
This scholarship will ease the financial constraints on my family, support my education, and empower me to deliver impactful, scalable solutions. With leadership experience as a student senator, academic mentor, and welfare advocate, I am committed to applying this knowledge not just academically, but in service to underserved communities through data-driven, intelligent innovation.
Miva’s flexible, future-focused learning environment aligns perfectly with my mission to become a data-literate, AI-enabled engineer, ready to build the systems that power a smarter and more sustainable world.
