I am nominating myself because I need help. I grew up in Ajegunle, a place where there are not many chances for people like me. Life there is hard. People struggle to survive, not to dream. I come from a family of twelve. I am the first son. That means a lot in my family. It means I carry responsibility. It means I have to do better, not just for myself, but for everyone else looking up to me.
Most of the time, I feel like I am running after opportunities that are always one step ahead. I work hard, I stay hopeful, but it is not easy. There are days when I feel tired, but I keep going because I know I have to make something out of this life. I know I can do better if I just get the right support. I am not asking for something I will waste. I am asking for a chance to learn, to grow, and to give my family something better.
This scholarship will bring me closer to the kind of learning I have always wished for. It will take me out of the corner I was born into and give me room to breathe, think, and do more. I want to stop surviving and start living. I want to help my younger ones believe that life can be different.
I am not perfect. I do not have all the answers. But I am ready. I am willing to put in the work. I just need someone to believe in me.
