I am nominating myself for the Sterling Future scholarship because I am a resilient and disciplined “Builder” who is actively transitioning into the technology sector to drive innovation in Nigeria. Despite being a nursing student at the Nigerian Army College of Nursing (NACON), I have demonstrated a high level of initiative by completing an intensive 6-week tech bootcamp where I successfully built and deployed my first web project on GitHub. My journey is marked by grit. Following my father’s job loss, I have faced a significant financial gap, with 320,000 Naira still outstanding on my session fees of 670,000 Naira. I have had to be incredibly resourceful, surviving on minimal provisions and borrowing laptops to keep up with my studies after my own device failed. I am not just a student; I am a self-starter who has managed to balance rigorous clinical training with the pursuit of software development skills. This scholarship would provide the stability I need to complete my current program and fully launch into a career in Computing where I can build the technical solutions Nigeria needs.
