After graduating with a degree in Biology at the age of 21, I was deeply unsure about what came next. I was just beginning to understand myself my voice, my worth, and what I truly wanted from life. I had always been timid and overly self-critical, so building my confidence became a journey of its own.
The idea of pursuing a career in health felt natural. I have always found joy and meaning in comforting others and being a part of their healing process.
But by the age of 23, life had taken a turn I never imagined. I was unemployed, stuck in an abusive marriage, and raising two young children. I remember wondering if life would ever show me its bright side again.
At 25, I found the courage to walk away with my children and start over. Since then, I have faced every day as a single mother doing everything I can to survive and provide a better future for my kids.
Now at 30, I still carry the dream of building a meaningful career in public health. I believe this scholarship could be the key to finally making that dream a reality.
Despite all the challenges, I have shown resilience, grit, and unwavering determination qualities I know will help me thrive in the BSc. Public Health program. I am nominating myself because, despite everything, I still believe in myself, in my dreams, and in what I can achieve if given the chance.
