Pitch Summary

I’ve always been the person friends and family turn to when their tech goes wrong, but my interest shifted from “fixing” to “protecting” after seeing how easily a simple phishing scam nearly ruined a local business I care about. It made me realize that behind every data breach isn’t just code—it’s a real person’s livelihood at stake. That’s why I’m pursuing cybersecurity. I don’t just study this in class; I spend my free time on platforms like TryHackMe and Hack The Box, learning how to think like an attacker so I can build better defenses. I’m particularly drawn to [insert specific interest, e.g., Network Security or Ethical Hacking] because I want to be on the front lines of protecting our digital privacy. Right now, the biggest thing standing in my way isn’t the difficulty of the material—it’s the cost of the specialized certifications and lab equipment I need to truly excel. This scholarship isn’t just a financial “win” for me; it’s the fuel that will allow me to focus 100% on becoming a professional defender of our digital world. I have the grit, the curiosity, and the ethics to make this investment count. I’m ready to get to work.
